The micro hair technique (MHT) scalp pigmentation process has been launched by HIS (Hair-Ink-Skin) Hair, and has already seen bookings soar by 20 per cent in the last 12 months.
One high-profile subscriber to the technique is celebrity hair stylist – and tattoo aficionado – Adee Phelan, who said that the technique has had remarkable results on his scalp.
“I was 24 when I started losing my hair. I got behind the product because I know it looks good,” he said.
Phelan added that the £2,000 price tag of the treatment is substantially less than the amounts that some celebrities – including Wayne Rooney and Jason Gardiner – are spending on costly hair transplants. Phelan, whose clients have included David Beckham, Elizabeth Jagger and Sarah Harding, said, “Not everybody has £25,000 to spend and this is a great affordable alternative.”
The technique was devised by Ian Watson, who developed alopecia in his mid-twenties after the stress of losing his brother from cancer. The Birmingham-based businessman spent years working with some of the world’s best hair loss experts, as well as semi-permanent make-up artists to develop the product, and is now opening clinics across Europe and the US.
