Capital Breakfast Show DJ Johnny Vaughan has told of his sense of insecurity that came from his hair loss. He told gossip magazine Closer that spent years trying to hide his receding hair line.

“I shaved it all off after realising I was a ‘crafty comber’” said Vaughan. “My one big regret is that I didn’t do it years ago. Men need to be upfront about it. As soon as it starts receding, shave it off!”

Vaughan also has a famous friend who suffered a similar hair loss dilemma: Hollywood film star John Travolta. The two men met at a party, where Vaughan “asked [Travolta] to dance – we shared four steps together just so I could say I’d danced with him like Princess Di did at the White House!”

Vaughan and Travolta had the opportunity to bond further thanks to their matching baldness: “John Travolta’s come out with a shaved head recently too. He’s facing up to his baldness” said Vaughan.

Johnny Vaughan has recently been reunited with his old Big Breakfast co-star Denise Van Outen, who is now his co-host on the breakfast show.
