techniques.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the only permanent and natural hair restoration technique for men and women. The technique can be used for head hair but also for the restoration of eyebrow and body hair.
The trip to Denver in Colorado gave the surgical team at the AHRC the opportunity to demonstrate the FUE technique. This treatment is a form of hair transplant that doesn’t have to involve scarring or stitches. It also reduced the amount of time a patient is out of action and makes body hair transplant a reality.
The body hair transplant option is great for patients who have limited scalp hair donor sights from which to harvest follicles. Instead, follicles can be harvested from areas like the armpit, the beard, the back, the chest and the legs.
This technique can be useful in adding density to a patient’s head hair, but is not usually applicable as the primary treatment for pattern baldness and alopecia where serious head hair loss is being experienced.
